All liposuction techniques share some basic steps. Small incisions are made, and Dr. Yee suctions fat from beneath the skin using a small cannula tube attached to a vacuum. In tumescent liposuction, a solution containing medicine to limit blood loss is injected into the fatty deposits being removed.

The technique allows Dr. Yee to sculpt the treatment area precisely, avoiding contouring irregularities. Using the tumescent procedure significantly reduces bleeding and bruising.

‍Recovery

Recovery from liposuction is easier and quicker than recovery from almost any other cosmetic surgery. Most patients are back to work within 5 days. There is minimal discomfort, and over-the-counter medications are usually adequate after the first day.

A compression garment will be provided and is necessary for your recovery. The length of time you will need to wear the garment depends on the amount of sculpting and where it was performed.
